I've Been Tagged!

- BLOG TAGGED -

I was kindly tagged by Claudia Del Balso, Writer

Shocked, and very honoured to be included on Claudia's tag list amongst some wonderfully informative and useful blogs, this is a great way to promote your blog site as it deserves - plus it's a fun way of expanding your contact list.

The Rules Are:
  1. You must post the rules.
  2. post eleven fun facts about yourself on the blog post.
  3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create eleven new questions to ask the people you've tagged.
  4. Tag eleven bloggers, however, you can break the rules and tag fewer people if you want. Make sure you hyperlink their names/blogs.
  5. Let them know you've tagged them - it's good manners ;)
  6. Enjoy and have fun with it.
My Answers to Claudia Del Balso:

1) What's your favorite classic (book)?
A long, long time ago, in a high school far, far away, there were 'Animal Farm' & 'Catcher in the Rye'.

2) Whose writing style would you like to emulate?
I would have to say those of David Gemmell, Terry Pratchett and Stephen King - all in one! But I like to think I have my own particular writing style.

3) Have you taken workshops to hone your writing?
Sadly, no. Though I did look into evening classes for creative writing... once.

4) Do you have a mentor?
No I do not. Would anyone like the job?

5) Which is my favorite cuisine?
By 'cuisine' I assume you are referring to posh food. I don't have any - but I do love a good Sunday   roast dinner. But if I have to cook for myself, then it's baked beans on toast with melted cheese.

6) Which is your favorite season?
I like all four seasons. The reason being is one of appreciation; I always look forward to the following season to come.

7) Which genre do you you write/read?
In terms of writing, mine is fantasy fiction. I try to aim for a darker, grittier form of fantasy. As for reading? Again, fantasy, sci-fi, horror and the occasional thriller.

8) If you had the chance to run off with one of your favourite characters, who would it be?
If it had to be one I have personally created and written about it wouldn't be any of them - they're all bastards. If it had to be a character from someone else's work, it would have to be Death from Terry Pratchett's 'Disc World' series, he'd be such a great laugh.

9) Which song brings you to tears?
Any heavy rap 'song' - can't stand the stuff!

10) Have you used someone else's secret in one of your stories/books/poems?
Can't say I have. Well, not knowingly? But then, maybe I wouldn't tell you?

11) Do you believe in soul mates?
Of course. I firmly believe that we can have more than one soul mate during our life time, be they your loved one, or your best friend. Soul mates do not fall into any definition that we know of, they are just one of those natural treasures in life that we so often over-look and take for granted. So if you recognise the fact you have a soul mate, count your blessings.

Questions Eleven:

  1. What made you decide to write a blog?
  2. What would you say has been the highlight of your blogging career to date?
  3. Name your favourite animal.
  4. What has been the best thing to ever happen to you?
  5. You are in a lift with a Nun, a middle-aged business man, a Karl Marx look-alike, a twenty-something female charity worker and Stephen Hawking. The lift shudders to a stop, the lights go out. There is a high-pitched scream followed by a thud. The lights come on and the Nun is lying dead on the floor with a knife in her chest. Who did it and why?
  6. Name your favourite colour.
  7. What has been the scariest thing to ever happen to you?
  8. You are about to break the world record for the tallest house of cards in front of a crowded room of onlookers and world press. All of a sudden, some idiot parent allows their errant child to charge over, knocking into your table, sending your world record beating attempt crashing around you. What do you do next?
  9. If you had to spend a month on a tropical island, what four luxury items do you take with you?
  10. Once on your tropical island you are allowed to have one person of your choice to stay with you. Now this can be anyone famous, living or dead, fictional and from any period of time/history - loved ones are not allowed - who do you choose and why?
  11. What has been the worst impulse purchase of a totally useless item (one you convinced yourself into believing you needed, but didn't)? What was it, and do you still have it?

Good luck with those. Have fun, and I look forward to reading your answers on your blogs.
Many, many thanks to you all for agreeing to take part :)

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the honorary mention. I, too, love "Animal Farm" and "Catcher in the Rye". :D
Your answer to soul mates is right on. I believe that we have more than one soul mate; They can be our best friends, sister, mother, lover, etc. Without getting into the philosophical aspect of it, Aristotle said, "A friend is a single soul dwelling in two bodies." Therefore, I believe soul mates are two people that compliment each other (in every way or almost every way).

I'll answer these later today.

I'm honoured to be in that line-up for sure. Clever questions too. I won't be as quick off the mark as Trey, but I'll get on it.

Thanks so much for honoring me with the tag, Mark!

My answers:

What made you decide to write a blog?

I knew I needed an online presence, and writing about what I knew best (writing!) seemed the best place to start.

What would you say has been the highlight of your blogging career to date?

I'm having a hard time picking just one moment, but winning Write to Done's Top 10 Blogs for Writers Award two years running is definitely up there at the top.

Name your favourite animal.

Again, hard to pick! I'm in love with fennec foxes at the moment - but don't tell my cats!

What has been the best thing to ever happen to you?

Every new day is new best thing!

The invisible alien, of course!

Name your favourite colour.

Blue

What has been the scariest thing to ever happen to you?

Six years ago, I was in an ATV accident that cracked my skull and broke two vertebrae. I was unconscious for all the really scary parts, but it was definitely a life-changing moment.

You are about to break the world record for the tallest house of cards in front of a crowded room of onlookers and world press. All of a sudden, some idiot parent allows their errant child to charge over, knocking into your table, sending your world record beating attempt crashing around you. What do you do next?

Before or after I fainted?

If you had to spend a month on a tropical island, what four luxury items do you take with you?

Lounge chair, Kindle, sunglasses, slurpee bottle.

Once on your tropical island you are allowed to have one person of your choice to stay with you. Now this can be anyone famous, living or dead, fictional and from any period of time/history - loved ones are not allowed - who do you choose and why?

Anybody who knows enough to be quiet while I'm reading. ;)

What has been the worst impulse purchase of a totally useless item (one you convinced yourself into believing you needed, but didn't)? What was it, and do you still have it?

That would have to be my recent purchase of an iPad. I totally didn't need it, and although I've enjoyed, I'd trade it in for a more convenient iTouch if I could.

Thanks for including me, Mark!

Thank you for the tag! I'm working on my post right now...I just need to come up with six more questions to ask. That's harder than it sounds!

Hello! Sorry for the late response, but I would be quite fine with that, fellow!

Again, apologies for my late response. I've not been on the internet in some time.

I'm glad you've enjoyed my participation, and rather grateful of your selecting of myself. It was a great thing to try out just for fun, especially that I too, do not usually participate with chain-letter-type deals.

Even some of those others you had tagged were unknown to me, and were great fun to discover.

Cheers,
Joshua.
