Assassin's Creed & Wood Kid

This is a brilliant video promoting Assassin's Creed Revelations.
The reason? Well, there are several: apart from the fantastic animation, there is Wood Kid's amazing 'Iron' track, plus this video never fails to give me goose bumps--and if I'm totally honest about it, I suspect one of the main characters (Seren) in one of my ongoing stories, 'A Matter of the Heart', is loosely influenced on the Assassin in this promo video.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy :)

I agree that this video sends chills... This song is amazing too, one of the best opening CGI videos of all time IMHO.

Although, I can't help but think of Jason Statham when I look at the guy who places the noose over the assassin's head - or is it just me?

But yes, you hit it right on the button. Sheer brilliance, on both counts. The link for 'Iron' will take you to the Wood Kid video for that particular track. Again, inspired video for a great track.

Glad you like :)

It's cracking this. Changing my mind about playing the game. I really couldn't get on with it at all when I played the first one.

I have the PC version of the game. Still unsure as to what to make of it? Part of me wants to love it, but the other part of me realises the game isn't delivering enough to develop such emotion for it. Shame really. But I shall endeavour to play through to the end... some day.

That's an awesome video, with great music. Very evocative stuff.

Next time you're over at my blog, I've tagged you!

Hi Mark,
I'm not into video games, however, I've got to admit, the animation is almost real. I like the scenery in the background and the accompanying music. Pretty cool!

If you hit the 'Iron' link it will take you to the music video from Wood Kid. Something I also find almost hypnotic. Nice to see you here again, Claudia :)

As by way of a post script, something else I find amazing is that to produce such life-like CGI animation actual flesh and blood performers are used for motion capture. So all those amazing fight moves were preformed first by a person, then fed into a computer and turned to wire frame, then animated.

Brilliant stuff. Certainly the way forward for the production of films. Soon the likes of Hollywood A-list stars will be reduced to voice-over parts only, cutting back on the stupidly high wages they are currently paid. Just my thinking... ;)

Claudia,

I'm sure, given time, I can tempt you over to the Dark Side--never say never ;)

Video was awesome. Can't say I'm a fan of the series though. I bought the first game but couldn't get into the whole "time traveling in my own brain" thing. Do you know if they keep that story idea in the sequels?

There is that aspect, yes, and to be honest, I'm not a fan of it either. This is the one and only game in the franchise I've invested in. Won't bother with any others. Saying that, I did purchase 'Oblivion', and hated it. Swore I wouldn't get another of those games, but recently got 'Skyrim', and wow, what a difference. Highly recommend 'Skyrim'.

I absolutely love Woodkid's Iron. And as much as I love his original video, this one is also very special.
