It's always sad to hear about the passing of someone in the media who has had a great influence or impact on your formative years. And this is just exactly one of those moments; reading that Donna Summer has passed away this morning after a long battle with cancer, aged 63.
I shall always remember 'I Feel Love', released during the summer of my twelfth year on this planet. We were on a rare family holiday in sunny Holimarine, West Wales, staying with my eldest sister who was part of a dancing troupe entertaining the holiday makers on site.
Rest in peace, pretty lady.

I am so sorry to hear this. She was a favorite of mine and my husband when we were young, crazy newlyweds.
RIP, Donna.
It's always sad to hear of the deaths of famous singers. Especially those who have passed away early by today's standards. RIP.
Nice tribute. Thank you.
RIP Donna. I loved her version of 'MacArthur Park'. Her music was a staple at school dances when I was in high school.
"I Feel Love" is one of a handful of dance tracks on my iPod - Ms Summers ethereal voice over Giorgio Moroder's driving synth is a part of my childhood as well.
"I Feel Love" is definitely a favorite, as is "Hot Stuff," which I especially remember from that brilliant scene in "The Full Monty." What a loss. May God hold you close, Ms. Summer. :-(
Some Dark Romantic
Wow. I hadn't heard about this until right now. That's a shame. :c
Unfortunately, I must say I've been entirely unknowing of this lady's existence, but I'm glad to say "I Feel Love" is right up my alley. So's the least I can say is thank you, fellow. Thank you for introducing me, even if I was very late to the party.
