I have mentioned this once previously, but left it alone due to the uncertainty within my mind (and heart). But now I feel the time is right and my blog needs a complete 'make-over'.
What I'd like to do is throw this out to the blogoverse and pick your erudite brains on the matter; should I go white? Keep it dark, but not as dark as it is now? Change the whole blog theme for something less 'fantasy'? Different layout scheme? Rename maybe? Arrgghh! I promise, I'm not like this about much else, I... just... don't... know?
I'm at a loss as to what would be best - so I asking you guys 'n' gals... HELP! Any and all suggestions/ideas are gratefully received :)

One thing you could do is look at other blogs and decide what styles/layouts you like best. I personally find light and bright backgrounds hard on the eyes which is why I prefer the darker backgrounds with lighter text (not white). Next would be to figure out what you want to use this blog for...
Thank you for your input, and yes, I can appreciate your point of view, especially on the 'not-so-bright' set up. Although, I am a fan of the crisp and fresh look, yet, like yourself, cannot abide being dazzled by overly white sites.
As for the use, well I suppose primarily writing (and the odd poem), maybe some art/illustration (rpg related and otherwise), a bit of chat/gossip/topical, and I would like to keep one proverbial foot in the role playing scene. So that gives me four sections I suppose?
I have, however, realised that I've lost quite a few readers, mainly due to my 'on / off' blogging of late, and I can't blame anyone for dropping my blog, I'd probably do the same.
Thank you, Elise, you've got my noodle cooking again ;)
let me know... i can help make it suit your needs... you find a favorite subject and away we go...
Thank you so much, sir... but I'm not sure I could afford your skills ;)
Hi Mark,
My humble opinion is that you should keep it clutter-free so readers don't get distracted. You can also use a background related to your blog. You've seen mine ;)
To make it easier on you, keep a steady schedule of posting, i.e., let us know when you post and try to keep to that day. In that way you won't lose your readers.
If you want to keep it light, you can interact with your readers. Mine, as you know, is more of a serious nature; it's more didactic than anything else so I have to use the same tone.
I hope this helps.
TTYL!
Cheers!
Thank you, Claudia, appreciate the input :)
I dig it dark, Dude. But then, you probably already knew that about me... ;-)
I actually really dig the layout and most of the colors you've got here, for text, but the pink bits confuse me. (Pink confuses me, just generally.)
Some Dark Romantic
Thanks Mina. Originally I chose the darker theme to go with the fantasy rpg aspect, but as it turns out I've branched out into the writing of fiction more than the rpg side. I just feel it could benefit from being organised somewhat differently and more efficiently, making it easier to navigate.
