New Skin, New Title

I finally managed to get round to giving my blog a bit of a makeover. Exactly how it will be received I can only tell by any comments left. So, do please let me know what you think - yes, I know it's typically neutral and boring with it being primarily beige and browns, but I'm opting for something not too dark, yet not too light.

I did try the sliding tiles/mosaic/magazine look. As much as I really, really like the layout, it just doesn't sit well with my blog and how I post on it. Shame that.

Fiddling with these things normally takes several days, so there might still be one or two alterations yet to come. But anyway, plonk a comment on what you think; good, bad or indifferent - it all helps.

I thank you in advance for any input.

so far very eye calming... you need a header that will separate you from the pack. simple not over the top, though i dig your choices.

Thank you, Jeremy - good to know coming from a fellow designer. As for the header, yes, I would have to agree. My last one was a combination of right colour blends and art work already to hand. Guess I'll just have to come up with another one to help zing things along.

Thanks again for your input :)

It's uncluttered, easy on the eyes. Works for me. And I agree with Jeremy about adding a personalized header. Overall, nice makeover. (:

Appreciate the feed back, Elise. Still think you guys are right about the header, and I feel the colour scheme needs some 'fine tuning'.

like the green-sea-foam with the black. coming along nicely. it's one of those things that when you see it and say "that's it". in the start my site was pink, that was not the right color. you've got the eye.

I think I'm getting there. The first beige colour scheme made the font jump a bit for my liking. This feels cooler, slightly more subtle, and possibly fresher.

Not sure about the font colour for my main body of text, and even the font is a bit 'meh' - shame they don't have Century Gothic :)

Still, more tweaking to be done here and there, but slowly, slowly, catchy monkey, as the saying goes.

Dig the simplicity, the easy-on-the-eyes color, and your sub-heading of "A creative outlet for writing, gaming and life" especially. Nicely done, Mr. K!

Sorry, must be my computer all I see is gray. But I'm with you I keep trying to tweak the design on my page and still am not happy. Good luck with yours!

Thank you, thank you Goth Momma :) - I'm late replying as this got lost below my newer posts. Always appreciate your input.

Thank you, Yolanda - and yes, I agree, the colour does vary screen-to-screen, the worst offender being my iPad; it totally screws with the colours for some inexplicable reason? But yes, I shall keep fiddling. Thanks again for stopping by, apologies for the late reply :)
